Condition:
This beautiful antique frame shows genuine age and remains an exceptionally decorative display piece.
There is a visible hairline crack in the porcelain extending vertically from the lower portion of the frame near one portrait opening, including a small separation at the molded lower edge. It is shown clearly in our photographs and has been taken into consideration when pricing the piece.
There is also expected age-related wear and loss to areas of the original gilding, along with aging, wear and evidence of previous reinforcement to the wooden components on the reverse.
Please examine all photographs carefully, as they are considered an important part of the condition description.
Despite its imperfections, the frame displays beautifully from the front. In fact, its softened gilding and evidence of more than a century of life are part of what gives this piece its wonderful antique character.
A Beautiful Piece of the Past
